If you have low-income children living at home then they may qualify as well since they’ll need food stamps or free school lunches just like their parents do (or else they won’t do well in school!). Lastly, there’s Section 8 housing where tenants pay 30% less than market-rate rent because it’s subsidized by HUD (Housing Urban Development).
