They are recruiting experienced and competent candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head, Business Development – Solar, Metering and Installations

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • Identify, develop and maintain relationships with strategic partners in the region
  • Work together with Sales team to turn prospective leads into long-term clients
  • Ensure Business Development Team Members are working effectively to maximize lead conversion and lead closure rates in assigned territories.
  • Establish relationships with local governments and other industry stakeholders (Discos, REA, industry associations).
  • Identify timely new opportunities in the form of the tenders and RFQs, work on submissions and attraction of right partners.
  • Scout new markets and identify new business opportunities, propose and execute market entry modes
  • Build company credentials towards financing institutions and solar PV projects investors and attaining bankability status in major banks.
  • Support clients on obtaining project financing and facilitate banks-clients introductions
  • Provide timely market intelligence (projects, trends, competitors’ activities, prices) to support headquarters and regional Sales team
  • Co-create measurable and achievable monthly objectives to address new business development, sales targets, managing existing business, and when necessary corporate objectives with the management team.
  • Ownership of customer relations issues, both in a proactive and reactive capacity.
  • Travel frequently to visit clients and attend exhibitions and conferences

Job Qualifications Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or a related field of study
  • Minimum of 5 years management work experience in a solar or other energy generating company
  • The applicant should have a strong analytical background
  • Well-networked across a diverse range of people and groups in Nigeria.

Other Requirements:

  • 8 – 10 years business development management experience in the solar industry including forecasting, scheduling, and real-time business development management for Commercial and Residential clients
  • Has good appreciation of the technical requirements for Energy Audits, Metering and installation processes
  • Works well with management, peers, and direct reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high attention to detail and accuracy in forecasting monthly, quarterly, and annual sales for their market.
  • Must have high ethics, integrity, and humility, and have a desire to build world-class sales and support organization.
  • Proven ability to transfer sales skills and knowledge to sales professionals under their direct management.
  • Proven leadership ability to influence, develop, and empower sales employees to achieve objectives with a strong “team” focus and approach.
